How prices are sourced and shown
The same rules apply on every site that shows a sold price. Each site also has its own method page with the detail.
Where the figures come from
Sold prices are used UK sales compiled from independent market data services and public e-commerce platforms, including eBay. Retail prices are kept separate and labelled as retail prices. Listings that do not match the item are filtered out before a figure is calculated, and a figure is never blended with a retail price or a visitor report.
What a price shows
- The headline figure is the median sold price, labelled "UK sold price".
- The range is the middle half of sales.
- The sample is the number of sales and the window, for example "12 sales, last 90 days".
- The date of the last sale is shown where known.
- With no sales, the page says "No UK sales recorded."
Verified and Estimate
Verified means three or more accepted sales in the window. Estimate means fewer than three. An estimate is always shown with a range and is marked as not a sold price. There is no third state.
How often it updates
PC Atlas sold prices refresh weekly, on Mondays. Aroid Atlas refreshes its 100 most viewed plants weekly and the rest on a monthly rotation. Every figure carries its own update date, so you can see how old it is.
